报告人简介:
Prof Hao Zhang has 34 years of research experience in chemical speciation and the biogeochemistry of trace metals and nutrients in aquatic systems. She graduated from Ocean University of China in 1984. Her research has been undertaken at theInstitute of Oceanography, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the University of Brussels, Liverpool University and Lancaster University (from 1993-present).She has been fully involved with undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at Lancaster University for the last 20 years.
She is the co-inventor of the technique of DGT (diffusive gradients in thin-films) for measuring chemical speciation and bioavailability in aquatic system and published the first DGT paper in Nature in 1994. Her recent and current work has maintained the research lead, and DGT-based work continues to set the agenda in the following research fields: (1) chemical speciation in aqueous environments, (2) dynamics of interactions between solution and solid phase in sediments and soils, (3) the role of microniches in determining chemical processes in sediments and (4) how the dynamics of soil processes affect uptake of solutes by plants. Grants (income exceeding £4,300,000)from NERC and EU have funded the water and sediment work, while research on soils has been funded by BBSRC, EU and industry. She has supervised 30 PhD students and 18 postdocs.
She has published nearly 200 peer-reviewed papers and have received about 900 citations per year in recent years with h-index 46. She is a Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry. She served asmember of NERC Peer Review College, associate director of Lancaster Environment Centre and associate editor of “Journal of Environmental Quality”. She is currently the head of Biogeochemistry and Environmental Chemistry section.
