报告1题目:Dataflow Computing and Applications
摘要:With the emergence of new data intensive technologies, and increasing amounts of data, new computing concepts are needed. The integration of big data producing technologies, such as wireless sensor networks, Internet of things, and cloud computing, is reducing the available time to find the appropriate solutions. A data flow computing concept is one possible solution for this problem. We discuss the possible shift in the computing paradigm and compare data flow and control flow programming models through their quantity and quality aspects. We take into account not only the execution time, but also the power and space, needed to complete the computing task. Recent research shows that data flow machines outperform control flow machines in many computationally intensive applications. To support the above claims, we present several implementations of various algorithms using the data flow paradigm, which show considerable speed-ups, power reductions and space savings over their implementation using the control flow paradigm.

报告2题目:Biofeedback Systems and Applications in Sport
摘要:Science and technology are ever more frequently used in sports for achieving the competitive advantage. Motion tracking systems, in connection to the biomechanical feedback, help in accelerating motor learning. Requirements about various parameters important in real-time biofeedback applications are discussed. Special focus is given on feedback loop delays and its real-time operation. One field of research is dealing with the possible use of smart sport equipment. Smart systems use sensing, processing, and actuating devices to perform adaptive and predictive actions to achieve a certain goal. The smart golf clubwillbe used in real-time biomechanical biofeedback system aimed to accelerate learning of a proper golf swing. At the end we present our experience in designing the smart sport equipment for alpine skiing.
